* Event Details
We arrived at the event 45 minutes early and easily obtained parking in front of the YMCA which was a close walk. There was also bussing from the high school which was 1/2 a mile away.
The tech shirt and medal was cool!
Vendors included Portuguese kale soup which was nice with the soft bread.
The typical bananas were handed out and they had pretzel rods with peanut butter and Nutella.
I love Nutella so this was a big p,us! I found it strange they had a lot of sweets. Mini cupcakes, pastries and such.
Lots of bottled water handed out as well.

* Race Details
I will start by saying this was my first 1/2 marathon. I have run 4 Boston marathons, but never did a half.
I decided to do this as my boyfriend lives in NH. We had run part of the trail as a run pre race and I was familiar with it on race day.
I loved the pretty trails and found that the racers spread out pretty quickly and I only had to pass people only a handful of times. The trails were wide enough for several people to run next to each other through most of the course.
There was the issue of circling around and doing another loop that I didn’t like. It isn’t fun to pass a sign saying 12 miles and you only did 6 at that point. Part of the course was a parking lot behind some warehouse that was pretty ugly.
There were 7 water stations with water and Gatorade.
Now that I’m a OCR girl, I’m so much more aware of littering. Actually saw a guy dump his gu on the trails! I was shocked he did this. It went right into the leaves and no one would have picked it up so I did. Thinking of you Heather! I ended up carrying his gu 2 miles before the next water station.
The course was pretty flat and you had to watch your footing as there were branches and rocks to trip on. My bf tripped twice.
There was a mix of trail, paved road, paved through trails and bridges.
Weather was perfect for running which made it a great experience. It was close to 60 and this is November!
I liked they called out my name and town as I finished. Lots of spectators around as there was also a 5k and 1/2 relay.
All in all a good race. Would I do it again? Probably not, but who knows?
