Two races. One date. One HUGE reason why we’re the best team to be on.

January 26th, a little under two weeks from time of writing, is going to be a pretty neat day to be a New England Spahten.

While the rest of the country is in “winter rest mode” – we already know thats not how the Spahtens roll. We’ve got folks running stadium stairs in Harvard, flipping tires on the north shore, WODing in central MA – and many other places, locations and intensities.

On the 26th there will be two obstacle course races. One in Lowell, MA and the other in Benson, VT. The New England Spahtens will be at both events. In fact, the New England Spahtens will have the biggest teams at both events.

Take a 5 mile course, and an 8 hour time window. Winner runs the most laps. Reviews for this course are glowing, and the race director / owner – Rob Butler – has been extremely involved in the community. For the folks not competing for the top spot – a heated barn and all day buffet will be available. There is a rumor there will be bacon.

Take a 5k course in Lowell. Throw in some Christmas tree drags, a prize for best 80’s costume, a family friendly atmosphere and fire pit – this looks like it’ll be a blast to run, and a great chance for folks to get out in the snow – but not for too long. Big shout out to Spahten Mike Hastie for taking on the job of coordinating with the race director and keeping the teams on track!
